Lake Bled

Lake Bled has a glacial origin. It is 2120 metres long and 1380 metres wide. You can walk around the lake following the walking path which is about 6 kilometres long. Bled island with its church is the only natural island in Slovenia.

The lake is set against a beautiful backdrop with Bled Castle perched on top of a rock and the majestic mountain surroundings. The lake itself is peaceful and during long summer days one could easily be tempted to jump in to the lake for a swim and to cool off.

Bled is a perfect base for those who would like to explore Slovenia’s Triglav national park and those who have adventure spirits as there are adventure excursions on offer from white water rafting to climbing the peak of Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain.
