I love Plovdiv aka the city of the seven hills due to it being developed on seven hills up to 250 metres high. The old town is well preserved and it is easy to explore on a day trip from Sofia. It is small and its cobbled-stone streets are dotted with beautiful houses in different styles.

The old town of Warsaw was made a UNESCO world heritage site in 1980. During World War II nearly 90% of the old town was destroyed. When the war finished the city began the reconstruction of this part of the city and slowly the churches, palaces and colourful facades were rebuilt.
